Workflow Customization
Each Step can be mandatory or optional, and the timing of any workflow step can be adjusted to allow for as fast an update as needed. As a web page or asset travels through the workflow process, email notifications can be sent to inform people that their attention is required.

As with all of the configuration, the web interface is used to manage all system. No configuration files – all you need is a mouse.
Workflow can be assigned to any asset
In addition to templated assets, file assets and even whole folders of assets themselves can have workflow applied. Different workflows can be assigned to similar assets in the same folder.
Complete state-change approach for workflow
Any number and order of steps within the workflow are possible. For example, you could have Draft/Pending/Staged/Live/Archived/Deleted/ or any combination you can think of. Transitions are completely configurable - names can match your own process, and approvals, publishing to specific servers etc. can happen at any state.
All Document states are reinforced throughout the interface to help reduce confusion and color-coding adds to the usability by offering a visual reinforcement of the document state. With crownPeakCMS, you always know which assets are live and which ones are in various states of development.
Approvals
A flexible approval process can be created to match your company’s exact need. Email notifications help speed along the approval process, as well as notify the autho when content has been approved. This allows the system to support your process rather than requiring you to adapt to some predetermined mechanical method that
may or may not meet your needs.

This is particularly well suited to industries with heavy regulation, such as healthcare. Managers can override content and immediately deploy live if
necessary.
Approval escalation if documents are not approved on time
The system checks internal dependencies automatically. Conflicts can be configured to be resolved in different ways by holding up publishing or forcing dependent
documents out.
